Terms of Use

Last updated October 14, 2026

Kaado is provided by RawLabs, Inc.. These terms cover the Kaado iPhone app, the Kaado Chrome extension and this website.

In short
  • iPhone: US$36 a year (US$3 a month, billed annually) or US$5.99 a month, in US dollars. Eligible new subscribers can try the annual plan free for 7 days.
  • Chrome: 7 days free, then US$5.99 a month.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel. Deleting the app or your account does not cancel them.

1. Your licence

The iPhone app is licensed to you under Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement (Standard EULA). These terms add the details of Kaado’s subscriptions and online features. If anything here conflicts with the Standard EULA for the iPhone app, the Standard EULA wins.

The Chrome extension is sold by RawLabs, Inc., not by Google, and you may use it under these terms.

2. Subscriptions and prices

iPhone (App Store)

  • Annual: US$36 a year (US$3 a month, billed annually) for new US subscribers since September 24, 2026. Existing annual subscribers keep the price they signed up at.
  • Monthly: US$5.99 a month. No free trial.
  • Free trial: eligible new subscribers can try the annual plan free for 7 days. The app shows whether you’re eligible before you buy. Any unused part of a free trial ends when you buy a subscription.
  • Local prices: prices differ by country and currency. The App Store shows your price in the app before you buy.
  • Billing and renewal: payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase, or when a free trial ends. A subscription renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period; your account is charged for the renewal within the 24 hours before the period ends.
  • Cancel or change: in iPhone Settings › your name › Subscriptions (Apple’s steps). Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep access until the period ends.
  • Restore: on a new or reset iPhone, tap Restore purchases on the subscribe screen or in Settings › Account & help. Don’t buy again.

Chrome (Stripe)

  • Price: 7 days free, then US$5.99 a month, renewing monthly until you cancel. A card is required to start the trial; cancel before the trial ends to avoid a charge.
  • Cancel: in the extension, open Settings › Subscription › Manage to reach Stripe’s customer portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period unless Stripe shows otherwise.

Both

  • Sign in to the same Kaado account on iPhone and in Chrome, and an active subscription from either store unlocks both. If you already pay on one, sign in instead of subscribing again.
  • Apple and Stripe bill separately. Cancelling one doesn’t cancel the other, and deleting the app, the extension or your account cancels neither.
  • There is no lifetime plan, and invites and friend challenges earn no rewards, credits or free time. The app can open Apple’s offer-code sheet; a code works only if it was issued through the App Store, under the terms Apple shows when you redeem it.

3. Refunds

Apple handles refunds for iPhone purchases: request a refund from Apple. For Chrome subscriptions, see our refund policy.

4. Accounts

An account is optional on iPhone. You need one to sync progress, link Chrome, join the leaderboard or use invites. Keep access to your email; it is how you sign in. You can delete your account at any time.

5. The creature game

  • The leaderboard is opt-in, resets every day at midnight UTC and has no prizes. Trainer names come from a fixed word list. Friend challenge scores are shared on trust between friends.
  • Battles are flashcard reviews; a battle answer updates your study progress. Friend challenges don’t.
  • We may remove scores, invite records or accounts that cheat or abuse the service.

6. Screen Time (iPhone)

App blocking is a voluntary self-control tool, not parental control, and it isn’t tamper-proof. iOS decides when blocking and usage limits take effect. You can stop blocking at any time without signing in or paying.

7. Fair use

Don’t misuse Kaado: no attacking, overloading, scraping or reverse-engineering our servers, no automated or fake accounts, and no getting around the subscription. Kaado helps you practise Japanese; it doesn’t promise any particular result.

8. Content

The app, the extension, the creatures and their art belong to RawLabs, Inc.. Japanese vocabulary comes from JMdict/EDICT, © the Electronic Dictionary Research and Development Group, used under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 licence, through Jisho.org.

9. No warranty

To the extent the law allows, Kaado is provided “as is”, and RawLabs, Inc. is not liable for indirect or consequential losses. Nothing here limits rights you have under the law where you live, or under the Standard EULA.

10. Changes and contact

We may update these terms; we’ll post changes here and update the date above. Questions: alex@rentahuman.ai.
